Radheeka picked us up at our hotel in Cape Town around 08:00 to start to tour. From the hotel, we headed to the neighborhood of Camps Bay and the area of the Twelve Apostles. Camps Bay is a very wealthy neighborhood in the Cape Town region. Therefore, you’ll find big, fancy homes with spectacular views.
After a short stop over a overlook near Camps Bay (photo below), we headed to Cape of Good Hope.
Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope were beautiful. We took path to the lighthouse (about 30 minutes uphill) and the views were absolutely breathtaking. Of course, you can’t help but admire the journey up to the lighthouse with colorful caterpillars and foliage to admire.
We saw an animal that we did not see on our 10 Day Namibian Road Trip, the eland. Actually, four elands grazing on the hillside. These creatures are the size of a cow, but look like a cross of an impala and oryx. They are part of the oryx family, so I guess that makes sense.
Leaving turned out to be the tricky part….we encountered a few baboons having a spa day, but then as we were about to exit the area there were baboons on the road dumpster diving.
Boulder’s Beach was our next stop of the day. The penguins were so fun to watch…I think we witnessed penguins testing out their swimming skills (see my Instagram reel).
After lunch at Harbor House in Kalk Bay we wondered around the surrounding area in False Bay, then headed back to our hotel.
