Review: Qatar Airways Q Suites

Qatar Airways claims to be “First in Business” and the Q Suites exceeded those expectations.

15 hours and 40 minutes long, Qatar Airways Flight 0740 from Los Angeles, California (LAX) to Doha, Qatar (DOH) was the longest single leg we have ever traveled on. However, we weren’t roughing it in the least in Q Suites. The onward flight to Cape Town, South Africa was about 10 hours including making it a good hourly deal.

The Seats

We had seat 7E and 7F, which were rear facing, center seats. These are the seats that are positioned to flatten out to a double bed, and booking far in advance is helpful in scoring this configuration. SeatGuru has great information on what seats are best, so review that before booking any flight.

The flight attendant made up the bed for me, which included a pad, comforter, and pillow cases.

The Amenity Kits & Pajamas

BRIC’S makes the beautiful amenity kit we were presented with. There is a women’s version that is gold and a men’s version that is black. Inside you will find socks, an eye mask, and earplugs, as well as a hydrating facial mist, anti aging moisturizer and lip balm all by the Italian beauty company, Castello Monte Vibiano.

Now for the pajamas… The White Company produces these PJs for Qatar, and they are so dang soft. There are a couple versions that I saw, but grey was the dominant offering. Andrew did score some black ones, and they are pretty cool. Also, slippers are included in the pajama sets.

Although, because of COVID, all passengers received a Travel with Confidence Kit, which contained a facemask, gloves, and hand sanitizer.

The Lavatory

The business class lavatory, however, wasn’t as large as I expected, but it was definitely nicer finishings than any economy product I have flown. Soaps and lotions available for use, but also razors and toothbrush kits in the drawers! Very clean, and nicely done.

The Food & Drinks

Airplane food isn’t known for being fine dining, but Qatar really has the food and drinks down. I had a pre-flight glass of bubbles, and a lemon-mint drink to go with. Lemon & mint is the Qatar signature drink. It is non-alcoholic, and so refreshing.

Below are menus (DOH to LAX) and food pictures (LAX to DOH).

The Service

Simply put….spectacular! Flight attendants were very attentive, but it was kind of weird being in the middle as the Q Suite has two different attendants. One for the left side, and one for the right side. Not a huge deal, as the attendants were willing to help both of us. At the end of the day, we booked another journey on Qatar Airways in Q Suites!
